You can reach the Laem Ngop Pier by flying into Trat Airport by Bangkok Airways and then taking private transport to the speedboats. Alternatively, you can arrange your own transfers by private car or private minibus direct to the pier or joint transfers from Bangkok (from Khao San road), Pattaya (from hotel).Main pier to Koh Mak is Laem Ngop pier, and now you can use Laem Sok pier. From Laem Ngop pier 4 speedboat companies running to and from the island Koh Mak co-ordinating with the other transport options, from Laem Sok express catamaran boat service Boonsiri Fantasia.You can island hop from Koh Chang, Koh Kood and Koh Wai using speedboats, though please note this service is not available in the rainy season, May to October.
You can take an airplane from Suvarnabhumi Airpot to Trat Airpot. When you arrive at Trat airport you can take a joint minibus to the pier Laem Ngop for 300 bath per person or private car / minibus to Laem Ngop/Laem Sok pier. During high season there are 3 flights per day and during low season there are 2 flights per day. To travel between Trat Airport and Laem Ngop/Laem Sok Pier, you will require a private transfer as there are no cheap share transfers operating this route. We can organise the transfer for you, please contact us. As Bangkok Airways have the monopoly of this route, the rates may be high and the planes quite full according to the period of the year.
Private transfer by car or minibus is probably the most convenient way to get to either Trat or Laem Ngop/Laem Sok Pier for Koh Mak аrom any point. From hotels in Bangkok or airport, transfer time is around 4 to 5 hours with a stop for a snack and coffee break.
We recommend 2 persons with child not over 9 y.o. for the Camry and 3 to 8 persons for the minibus. Passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport are met at Level 2 Arrivals, Door 3 and all other meetings places are specified in advance.
To reach Koh Mak by public transport, you can use “Bus 999” from Ekamai, Bangkok’s eastern Bus Terminal an air-conditioned coach which provide direct journey to Laem-Ngob.
– Ekamai (Bangkok) – Laem-Ngob: 6.30 a.m. 9.45 a.m. 19.30 p.m.
– Laem-Ngob – Ekamai (Bangkok): 12.30 p.m. 14.00 p.m.
The journey takes around 6 hours. The current rate for one way ticket is 250 Baht.
As another option, you can take Bus & Ferry Package by Boonsiri. The bus and the high speed catamaran belong to Boonsiri, the bus drops you directly at the pier Laem Sok. The ferry which is comfortable and reliable will wait for you. By booking this package, you can be sure that you will not miss your transfer to Koh Mak. The pick-up point in Bangkok, is located near Khao San Road.
From Laem Ngop Pier speedboats run by Leelawadee, Panan, Suansuk and Seatales Speedboats run to and from Koh Mak. Arriving Koh Mak, Panan Speedboats stops at the pier at Koh Mak Resort on Ao Suan Yai Beach on the north west coast, Leelawadee Speedboats at the pier of Makathanee Resort on Ao Kao Beach on the south west coast, and Suansuk Speedboats, Seatales and Boonsiri Fantasea docking at the public pier Ao Nid.

From Laem Sok Pier, operates Boonsiri Catamaran to Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Duration time of 45 minutes, with free transport to your resort.
