One of the most famous and popular excursions in Pattaya. The Kwai River (the proper name of Kwai Noi) is in Kanchanaburi province in the west of Thailand. Pictures
Kanchanaburi is located in the middle of picturesque hills, but its popularity was not due to natural beauty, but because during World War II there was a prisoner of war camp, a base for the construction of the Thai-Burma railway and the "Death Road" across the Kwai River . When the Japanese military forces forced prisoners of war to build a bridge across the Kwai River, during the construction of which a large number of people died.
In the province of Kanchanaburi is also located the Eravan National Park, with a beautiful 7-level waterfall, the height of more than 830 meters. Eravan is a mythological big three-headed white elephant, in honor of which this waterfall is named. The waterfall is very clean with turquoise and emerald color. Also in them there are numerous SPA fishes (Garra rufa), which do not mind tickling your feet, biting off dead skin cells, like peeling from nature itself.
Kanchanaburi has underground (geothermal) hot springs Hin Dat Hot Springs, which fill 3 pools with a water temperature from +40 to +65 degrees Celsius. For monks there is a separate pool. Thai people believe in the healing power of thermal springs, so families come here to heal health and just have a good time outdoors.
Whatever the name of the excursion to the river Kwai, you will definitely spend an unforgettable time in the amazing province of Kanchanaburi, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the hotel on the river, make an alloy on the dam and admire the picturesque waterfall Eravan.
